What Ever Happened To These Forgotten NBA Players?

Hedo Turkoglu

Joining the Sacramento Kings in the 2000-2001 season, Hedo Turkoglu broke barriers by becoming the first Turkish athlete to play in the NBA. During his time with the Kings, Turkoglu became one of the NBA’s best role players. After three seasons in Sacramento, and one in San Antonio, Turkoglu moved to Orlando, where he went on to win the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award in 2008 and helped the Magic make their second NBA finals appearance in franchise history, before losing to the Lakers in 2009. Once he was done playing, Turkoglu returned to his home country, where he has served as a special advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan since 2016. Recently, Turkoglu has made news by sparring with fellow Turkish basketball star Enes Kanter on Twitter over Kanter’s opposition to the Erdogan regime.
