What Ever Happened To These Forgotten NBA Players?
Yao Ming
With the possible exception of LeBron James, Yao Ming entered the NBA with as much hype as any player ever. The 7-foot-6 giant more than lived up to those outsized expectations, however, making 8 All-Star appearances in 10 seasons. Most importantly, the Chinese native’s success helped the sport explode in popularity across Asia. Since retiring, Yao has split time between Houston and Beijing. He was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016 and recently served as the Chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, as well as the team owner of his former CBA squad, the Shanghai Sharks.
